What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

The IFS Institute explains Internal Family Systems as “… a powerfully transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. IFS believes the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing.  Our inner parts contain valuable qualities and our core Self knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole. In IFS all parts are welcome. IFS is a movement. A new, empowering paradigm for understanding and harmonizing the mind and, thereby, larger human systems. One that can help people heal and helps the world become a more compassionate place. The mission of IFS Institute is to bring more Self leadership to the world.”

Why I Use the IFS Model

I utilize components of the IFS model with clients because IFS is a powerful way to get to know yourself. Sometimes conflicting motivations, fears, and hurts can make it feel like you’re not “driving the car.”

Developing greater awareness and Self-love empowers us to live authentically. As the IFS Institute states, “all parts are welcome” in your work with me.
